While comparing the materialist West and the spiritualist East, the author made a distinction and comparison over the Fatih and Harbiye districts of Istanbul, while presenting the Harbiye and its surroundings as belonging to the society under the influence of the West, Fatih was able to protect himself from the bad effects of the West in a more local way, but is behind many advances. It has taken it as the place of the society that has an established identity. This situation, together with the separation of space in the novel, caused the people of both places to separate together with the space within a society and revealed the phenomenon of social clustering over space. In this study, in Fatih Harbiye novel, how this separation is reflected on places and people is evaluated and Neriman, who turned his face to the “other” in order to get rid of the troubles of his own field, struggles between the well and different world in the same city and the sociological and psychological reasons of all these are emphasized.
