Culture is a combination of material and spiritual values of a nation. A person who is influenced by the cultural values of his/her society, passing through a natural educational process, adopts and practices those values in his/her life. In this regard, a person who has gained a place in a society and its customs also knows that society’s way of thinking well. Birth is one of the most important stages of human life. Customs about the process of birth; which have been implemented since ancient times, beliefs, and some of the practices related with those still continue today. It is essential for those practices of life to be protected, taught and passed on the next generations. However; with an increase in literacy rate, technological developments and the bringings of the modern era, it can be said that some of these components of tradition lost their charm even if they did not disappear completely. In this research, to learn about their birth customs and carry them to the future, between the dates 11.09.2019 and 12.25.2019, face to face interviews were done with thirteen Turkish citizens with Georgian origin living in Sarıaliç neighbourhood of Korgan town in Ordu. During this process, structured interview method was used and the data were audio recorded. As a consequence of the interviews, these birth customs are aimed to be evaluated regarding cultural changes within the context of past and present.
