Abstract

Batik Sanatının Bervanik Baskı Tekniği ile Karşılaştırılması

According to the literature review, the first and most basic traditional fabric dyeing and decoration art, hand printing technique, which is assumed to have been done in various countries of the world for many years, but is claimed to belong to the Far Eastern countries of Indonesia, Java and Malaysia; is Batik, which is a reserve method. After the natural cloth is patterned with resist/covering agents (wax/paraffin) end special tools (Tjanting/Tjamp) that prevent the absorption of dye in the desired parts, it is colored with the dip dyeing method. Batik, also known as Blaudruck in the world, is similar to Bervanik Printing, also Waxed Blue Cloth, Blue Printing or Blaudruck, which is the local name for the loincloth and apron used in traditional women's clothing in the Malatya region of Turkey. In this study, prepared by reviewing the literature, which is one of the qualitative research methods; by underlining their art and craftsmanship status together with their traditionality, by touching on the ongoing conceptual confusion caused by calling every hand-dyed fabric Batik; the textile materials used, resist materials, pattern features, dyestuffs, hand printing and dyeing methods, fixation processes, similarities, differences and sustainability between them are presented through comparisons in terms of their areas of use. Considering that the protection of local handicrafts, their survival and the provision of their continuity based on tradition will be possible by providing opportunities to artistic and mass-producing individuals or organizations devoted to this work; despite the fact that Bervanik Printing is no longer being done after the death of Master Hıdır ORAL in 1997, the educational studies and centers opened in Pekalongan, Indonesia, for the survival and continuation of traditional Batik culture were mentioned and the issue of the convergence of traditional Bervanik Printing into history was examined from the perspective of future generations in Turkey.
