Abstract


Câfer İyânî’nin Kitâb Fî Fezâili’l- Ahlâk Adlı Eseri

After the Turks meeting the religion of Islam, the works on morality began to be written. The first examples of these works were given by Kutadgu bilig, written by Yusuf Has Hacip in the 11th century, and examples continued to be given for centuries. Espicially in the 16th century many moral books were written diversifiying the subjects of prose works. The Qur’an and hadiths formed the basis of the books of morality, as religious toughts and principles were very influential on society. It can be said that the purpose of the writing the moral books is to regulate the behavior of people in their personal and social lives. The behaviors inspired by the Qur’an and hadiths are presented to people with various stories and parable. Many topics are told such as being fair, avoiding from forbidden, to jihad on Allah’s way, being merciful to prisoners, oppressed people and orphans. Câfer İyânî’s Kitâb Fî Fezâili’l-Ahlâk, we are working on, is one of these moral works. In the work, morality, good behavior are told to people in four chapters with. Various stories that are cited from different sources. Each chapter focuses on a different topic. The ideas submited in these stories or inspired behaviors are supported by hadiths and verses of the Kur’an, and narration is corroborated with the verses at the end of the story.
