Abstract

Hacı Bektaş Veli’ye Atfedilen Türkçe Eserlerin Dikkat Çeken Dil Özellikleri

The number of works attributed to Hacı Bektaş Veli, who left important traces in Turkish-Islamic history and was accepted as a pir (spiritual guide) by non-Sunni communities in Anatolia, is seven. Among these works, Makâlât is in Arabic; Kitâbu’l-Fevâid and Makâlât-ı Gaybiyye ve Kelimât-ı Ayniyye are Persian. A. Gölpınarlı mentioned that he had a two-page work called Şathiyye in Turkish but did not give any information about its location. The language of his works named Besmele Tefsiri and Fatiha Tefsiri is Turkish. It is assumed that besides these six works, there is also Nasihatler. Among the seven works attributed to Hacı Bektaş, only Makâlât is regarded as certain to belong to him. There is uncertainty about whether the other works belong to Hacı Bektaş or not. Hamiye Duran worked on Besmele Tefsiri and Hüseyin Özcan on Fatiha Tefsiri. In the studies on these two works, the language of which is Turkish, language features have been mentioned very little. In our study, the language features of these two works are discussed in terms of phonetics, morphology, and vocabulary. The findings were compared with the general language features of Old Anatolian Turkish. Later, language properties that differed according to the period or that were rarely used were revealed. In addition, based on the language features, a clue was sought about the belonging of the two works in question to Hacı Bektaş Veli.
