Suleyman Shadi is one of the 19th century representatives of divan literature. He was born in 1830 and died in 1900. Having received a good education, Shadi taught in junior high schools, held many government positions and served as chief clerk in various public offices. According to the information given by the sources, Suleyman Shadi was from Kars and was one of the caliphs of the Nakşibendî order. There are poems that mirror the period that reveal the battles on the battlefields. His divan, a book of poems, was printed in Istanbul in Arabic letters.
