Abstract


Divan Şiirinde Şeyhülislam Ebûishakzâde Mehmed Esad Efendi’nin Devlet Adamlığı Özellikleri: Nef’î Divanı Örneği

There are quite a lot of human and human-related appearances in Divan poetry. These appearances have shown their presence as types and personalities in the poems. Ebûishakzâde Mehmed Esad Efendi, who is a member of the decency council and performs the duty of sheikh, is also among the historical personalities. In this study, it is examined how the qualities of statesmanship in Classical Turkish poetry are used in poems for Ebûishakzâde Mehmed Esad Efendi. At the beginning of the study, it was revealed whether the characteristics of Ebûishakzâde Mehmed Esad Efendi, whose biography is mentioned, coincide with his biography in the poems. In this study, the qualities of statesmanship in Classical Turkish poetry are examined by dividing them into two groups in the form of personal characteristics and state and society values. The Court of Nef’i, the court in which the most and most diverse features of Ebûishakzâde Mehmed Esad Efendi are located, has been determined. After a brief explanation for each feature, elements such as words, full words, verses reflecting the features are shown along with their meanings in sample couplets and couplets. There are tables showing the statistical results of the data obtained at the end of the study. In this study, the relationship between the quantity and variety of decency qualities in Classical Turkish poetry for a statesman and the success of the statesman in the life of duty has been tried to be revealed.
