The aim of Turkish lessons is to train individuals who have developed basic language skills, can understand what they listen and read correctly and fully, and who can effectively convey their feelings and thoughts verbally or in writing. Reading is one of the most commonly used language skills. For years, the focus has been on the behavioral dimension of reading. However, affective factors such as attitude, anxiety, interest, motivation and self-efficacy also have a significant effect on reading. Therefore, in the process of creating a successful reading experience and raising qualified readers, it is necessary to consider the psychological factors affecting reading. The aim of this study is to explain the subject of reading psychology by using the concepts of attitude, interest, motivation, anxiety, and self-efficacy. In the study, which was structured with the "Systematic Compilation Method", a literature review was conducted in which all dimensions of the subject were examined in accordance with the research question, and the
basic titles related to the concepts of reading and psychology were determined. Then, in the context of the relationship between reading and psychology, the concepts of attitude, self-efficacy, anxiety, interest and motivation, which are affective features that affect reading, are explained and their relations with reading are revealed. Considering the factors such as attitude, self-efficacy, anxiety, interest, motivation both helps to understand what is read and contributes to increase academic success. In this context, it has been determined that there are limited studies on the psychological factors affecting reading, and it has been concluded that more studies should be conducted on this subject.
