Reşat Nuri Güntekin (1889-1956) is one of the leading writers of Turkish literature in the Republican period. Güntekin traveled frequently to Anatolia during his time as an inspector of education. In this way, he got to know the Anatolian geography closely and became intertwined with the Anatolian people. The author, who is a strong observer, reflected the impressions he gained here in his travel writings. Güntekin dealt with Anatolia and the Anatolian people from various aspects in these articles, which he later published in a book called Anadolu Notları. He described Anatolia in its social, cultural and economic reality. He dealt with the problems of the people who lived here. He interpreted what he saw from a new perspective. In his Anadolu Notları, the artist also expressed his views and approaches to the roads of Anatolia, transportation and accommodation opportunities. In this context, he critically examined many issues from intercity roads to transportation vehicles such as trains, buses, trucks, accommodation facilities such as hotels and hostels, and the difficulties of the illness experienced during the journey. In other words, the author also mentioned the hardships of the road and the journey in his travel writings. This study aims to determine how Güntekin saw the opportunities to travel in Anatolia and how he reflected them in his travel writings.
