Many studies have been done on the grammar studies of the Turkish language, which has a history of thousands of years. When we look at the studies in general, it is seen that the grammatical features of the Turkish language have been determined to a large extent, except for some exceptional cases. Studies such as vocabulary, semantic world and conceptual field, context-centered evaluations, semantics in Turkish language, which has recently become a common working point of interdisciplinary approaches, are also noteworthy. Such areas have made it necessary to evaluate the Turkish language in the circle of linguistics, and with these studies, another rich side of the Turkish language has become a study area for researchers. In the linguistics of the 21st century, a human-centered perspective has been developed and language, which human factor processing language, has become one of the important subjects of linguistics. One of the study areas of linguistics that has developed in the human environment has been the subject of word-based connotation. Although the subject of connotation is seen as a subject of study in the field of psychology, it is true that word-based connotation are the common field of study of psychology and linguistics. The subject of this study will be the evaluation of the connotation values of the colors in the stories of Ömer Seyfettin, who wrote works with a clear understanding of Turkish and made great contributions to Turkish. In this study on colors, analysis of free associations will be based. The connotation values of colors, which will be discussed within the framework of a common discipline, which we can also call psycholinguistics, will be important in expressing both the words and the thought, understanding and perspective put forward in this framework.
