Considering the history of music studies in our country, the systematization of field studies on the compilation of music folklore was first established in 1916 under the name of Darülelhan. It started with the organization named Istanbul Municipal Conservatory in 1927 and then continued with the work of cultural institutions such as the Turkish Folklore Association and the People's Houses. At this point, the institution, which was established in Ankara in 1924 as the Music Teachers' School and renamed the Ankara State Conservatory in 1936, has a very important place in terms of early Republican music research. He organized sixteen research trips, which lasted from 1937 to 1952, within the scope of on-site research activities on Anatolian music folklore carried out by the Ankara State Conservatory. In terms of the results obtained, Çorum constitutes one of the pillars of these trips, where very productive results were obtained in the detection of folk music. It is known that Ahmed Adnan Saygun, Mahmut Ragıp Gazimihal and Muzaffer Sarısözen, who were the authorities of the period for folk music research, also took part in the studies that lasted for twelve years in Çorum, which was included in the 1939 research planning of the conservatory. In this article, Abada Bir Kebe De Bir Giyene folk song, which was recorded in the field research carried out in Çorum and included in the TRT repertoire, was analyzed culturally and musically based on both the compilation slip, which is the folklore recording of the period, and sound analysis.
