Abstract

Derleme Türk Masallarının Çocuk Okurlar için Değiştirilmesi

The fairy tale is a genre that has become a subject of study in many fields of social sciences with its being a means of transmission that reflects the cultural accumulation of the society in which it is told from past to present, its unusual choice of subject, person and place, its independence from the concept of time, and its unique use of language. Folklore, folk literature and children's literature are among these fields. Although the texts are the same, there is a significant difference in perspective between the disciplines listed. This difference also affects the way texts are used and analysed. Oral genres, which are mostly considered to be the subject of folklore, are also included in the field of folk literature when they are written down. With a general acceptance, the structure of the texts is tried to be preserved as much as possible during the transcription process. On the contrary, in order to bring written texts together with children readers, some changes may need to be made on the texts in terms of suitability to the interests and needs of the targeted age group, their perspective on life, language development characteristics, affective and cognitive development characteristics. In this study, the folk tales compiled by Pertev Naili Boratav were compared with the versions modified by Adnan Binyazar for children readers and the changes made on the texts were analysed. The possible reasons for the changes were discussed within the framework of both the perspectives of the researcher authors and the views accepted in the disciplines they are involved in, and they were evaluated in terms of the features that should be found in qualified children's literature texts. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that the expansion, reduction and semantic transformation processes were carried out on the texts with an intuitive approach. It was concluded that the most common change made on the fairy tales was expansion, the changes made did not affect the genre features of the fairy tales, but they affected their messages and revealed new messages that could be received.
