Abstract

Topkapı Sarayı Emanet Hazinesindeki 1470 Numaralı Şiir Mecm?asının İncelenmesi ve MESTAP’a Göre Tasnifi: Mecm?a-i B?-Hemt?

Magazines, one of the invaluable sources of the history of literature, fill a big gap in this field. These works reflecting the history, culture, art, geography, material and spiritual values of an era sometimes help the main sources of literary history, and sometimes serve as the only source. A poet’s poem that is not included in their dîvân can be encountered in magazines. Additionally, it is known that the poems of poets who could not compose divans throughout their lives were compiled and brought to the history of literature. Furthermore, that a poet's poems are included in magazines indicates how creditable they are. Thus, magazines also have a critical identity. Poets who have a strong artistic aspect and have gained the society’s appreciation are included in the magazines and thus gain the chance to be read in various places. It is unthinkable that poetry magazines were not common in Ottoman palaces at a time when the sultans themselves were poets, art was given great importance and artists were protected. In our study, it is aimed to introduce the magazine numbered 1470 at Topkapı Palace, on whose first page it is noted as “mecmûa-i bî-hemtâ”, the unique magazine, determine the literary taste of the 17th and 18th centuries, and bring İzzet Ali Pasha’s unpublished ghazal to light. This miscellany, is made available to the researchers in a table complying with the Systematic Classification Project of Journals (MESTAP)
