Due to their qualitative nature, it cannot be said that there is a complete method integrity in the analysis of literary texts. However, it can be said that the majority of these studies were written on understanding and explaining the text. In order to make the text more understandable, the researcher focuses on the text and “explains” the text to the reader based on the clues he/she catches. Although this method of analysis is considered appropriate for works in the genre of prose, especially in poems where metaphorical expressions are intense, in fact, making such explanations to the reader means limiting the interpretation area of the poem for the reader. For this reason, it can be thought that focusing on “how” rather than “what” will be a more productive field for researchers, especially in the examination of such poems. The “how” of the poem is as much as it is about the choice of words or syntax; It is also related to the sound of the poem, namely phonetics. Until today, when the phonetics of poetry is mentioned, mostly the harmony obtained by repetition of the sounds used in the poem has been understood. However, as a result of his examinations in sound laboratories, Mustafa Volkan Coşkun determined that there may be a relationship between the sounds used in a word and the meaning of that word, and based on these inferences, he discussed the relationship between the sound and meaning of two poems. In this study, the relationship between the sounds used in Attila İlhan's poem called Ben Sana Mecburum and the meaning of the poem is discussed.
