Abstract

Gelenek, Tabu ve Şehirleşme Ekseninde Tokat Yöresi Sıraçları

Alevism, which is one of the important parts of Turkish culture, has created different cultural communities in the Anatolian and Balkan geographies. Tokat is a region where this belief community is densely populated. Siraçlar, who joined the Anşa Bacı convent in Acısu village of Zile, is a community that still keeps the cultural traces of ancient Turkish culture alive in Anatolia until recently. With this study, it will be revealed how the cultural qualities of Sıraç, which they preserved until the twentieth century, due to their closed social structure, have changed due to modern life conditions. The study deals with the concept of taboo, which was used by Sigmung Freud to examine the social life of the Polynesian natives, and the change in the traditional lifestyles of the Sıraç within the framework of cultural changes due to urbanization, in the context of practices and beliefs about marriage and death rituals. The research was carried out with field research by taking Acısu village of Zile District of Tokat province, which is the belief center of the Sıraç community in the region. In the research, while the authentic Sıraç culture was compiled from the Sıraç fathers and village people still living in the village, the views of Sıraç living in the cultural habitat of the city on the effects of modern life on the traditional social structure were included in the research. As a result, it has been determined that the tradition and belief elements that Siraç have preserved for hundreds of years within the closed society structure have begun to change as a result of migration to the city and the forced bond established with the outside world, and this culture has begun to lose its authentic form; Evaluations were made about which elements of this culture should be determined.
