Abdusselâm el-Esmer was one of the important Sufis who carried out activities in North Africa in the XVI century as the pîr-i sânî of Arûsî, one of the branches of the Shazali order Arûsîlik continues its activities with the ‘Selâmiyye’ branch in Tunisia and Egypt compared to Esmer and with the ‘Ömeriyye’ branch of the ‘Arûsî-yi Salâmî Tarîkatı’ in Turkey. This study consists of four parts. In the first part, information was given about the genealogy of Abdusselâm el-Esmer, his Sufi education, his life full of Qur’an and wisdom researches. In the second part, he raised many disciples in his quest for the truth until he was about a hundred years old and Esmer’s works, which have survived as a result of wars and rebellions, have been introduced in small numbers. In the third part, Esmer’s love for Turks was evaluated in terms of cause-effect relationship. Esmer’s presence in the processes of the Ottoman Empire’s liberation of the Libyan people from the colonial states and the fact that Turgut Pasha and Murat Ağa supported the settlement policy with their followers was considered from this point of view. In the fourth part of the study, Esmer’s Sufi views in the context of al-Vasiyyetü’l-kübrâ belonging to Sufism It was evaluated in terms of thematic analysis method, which is one of the qualitative data analysis methods. Esmer, who has been found to touch on the conditions of entering the sect, repentance, dream, the relationship between the murshid and the disciple, the concepts of sufi-mysticism, vision, love, knowledge and adab in his work, seems to be loyal to the mystical understanding based on the Qur’an and the Sunnah. el-Va?iyyetü’l-kübrâ, the only printed work of Sufism of Esmer, who is famous for his meticulousness in obeying the Ahl as-Sunna, is the handbook of the Arusi sect as well as being the “adâb tractate” that regulates the behavior and customs of the followers. However, there has not been any study in Turkey el-Va?iyyetül-kübrâ that reflects the authors sufistic and scientific thoughts. Therefore, This fact makes it necessary to study his views academically. In this respect, the study aims to bring his spiritual journey to the world of science within the framework of el-Vasiyyetül-kübra that is known as a book of guidance and the act of showing the true path.
