Literary works have a very important role in the transfer of culture to new generations. Strong literary works are carriers of universal elements as well as local elements. It is possible to see in literary works that people from different geographies and cultures have developed common feelings and thoughts throughout the long history of humanity. Using the archetypal criticism method developed by analytical psychology makes great contributions to better understanding the local and universal elements in the background of the texts. In this context, the masnavi “Salâmân u Absâl”, a copyright-translated work written by Lami’î Çelebi, one of the important poets who lived in the 16th century, inspired by Molla Camiî, has been tried to be analyzed with the archetypal criticism method. It has been evaluated with the cyclical journey stages that he determined in his work “Hero’s Endless Journey”. The analysis consists of three main parts. In the first part, information is given about the poet Lami’î Çelebi and his work “Salâmân u Absâl”. In the second part, the concepts used in archetypal criticism are emphasized. In the third chapter, the journey of the masnavi hero, Salâmân, is examined with the archetypal criticism method. With this study, it is aimed to show that the texts of classical Turkish literature are not disconnected from the common consciousness of humanity, on the contrary, they have strong psychological infrastructures.
