Exegeses are sometimes written in order to better understand a work by the reader, to clarify its unclear or closed directions, and sometimes to contribute to second language learning. In the history of Turkish literature, many annotator have written exegeses on the works of famous Persian poets such as Hafız-ı Şirazi, Molla Cami, Urfi-i Şirazi.
