Today, the benefits of breast milk have been proven by modern medical studies. Recent studies show that breast milk can be produced in artificial environments and can be used not only for feeding babies but also for therapeutic purposes. In the Turkish belief and thought system, breast milk is considered the symbol of cleanliness and clarity. Historical sources show that Turks were aware of the benefits of breast milk in ancient times and that they benefited from breast milk in folk medicine practices. In this study, traditional treatments using breast milk in Turkish folk medicine are included. The mythological origins of the use of breast milk for treatment in Turkish folk medicine have been tried to be determined. Treatment of stye, headache, fissure, eye pain, eye examination, eye bleeding, eye itching, stomachache, earache, shingles, herpes and wounds in adults; in children, towel, nose throat, gas, eye pain, eye burring, hiccups, mumps, crusting, stomachache, flushing, scarlet fever, earache, stain, fungus, cough, jaundice, crying child, acne, hairiness, wound and high treatment fever, it has been determined that breast milk is used.
