Since the early ages, people have benefited from communication opportunities both to maintain order and to survive. The press, which is at the forefront of these communication opportunities and is described by many as the fourth power after the legislature, executive and judiciary, is one of the mass media whose power is accepted by almost everyone. Having functions of informing, raising awareness and directing the society ensures that the press always maintains its validity in the society. At the same time, this mass media, which affects the world of thought and emotion, as well as attitudes and behaviors, has the power to change the society. This power of the press was also used during the National Struggle Period. Therefore, in many novels about the struggle period, we come across press life and press workers. In this study, the National Struggle and the Republic, which are included in the novels Iztırap Çocuğu (Ethem İzzet Benice, 1927), Halas (Mehmet Rauf, 1929), Dünkülerin Romanı (Burhan Cahit Morkaya, 1934) and Ankara (Yakup Kadri Karaosmanoğlu, 1934), which we can evaluate within the Turkish Literature of the Atatürk Period covering the years 1923-1938 and in which the press life is discussed, are reflected from the perspective of the journalists in the novels.
