There are several studies about colors in Turkish. From the Orkhon inscriptions to the present, this subject has been studied by local and foreign researchers with various methods in different fields and analyzed in the form of papers, articles, books and thesis. Some of these studies can be listed as number of colors in Turkey Turkish, usage characteristics and systematics in written and spoken language, use of proverbs and idioms, form, meaning and concept dimension, usage in place, person, animal (horse coat colors and horse markings), plant and object names, contributions to vocabulary, usage in Turkish dialects, its use in belief and traditions, usage in naming horse hair, its use in poetry and novels, borrowings, affixes, use in the fields such as literature, history, sociology, gastronomy, psychology, medicine. Even though Turkey Turkish has some parts that are lacking and need to be completed, it has Dictionary of Colors in Turkish (Eminoğlu, 2014), which contains a notable vocabulary consisting of 7,158 items. Color names in the frame of basic vocabulary which are one of the elements that enrich the language it belongs to, have not been examined in Turkish in terms of their use with compound verbs, though; they are discussed and examined within the framework of nomenclature. Thus, this study has focused on and evaluated in detail which compound verbs colors are used with in Historical Turkish dialects and their usage characteristics.
