Mukaddimetü’l-Edeb’den (Yozgat Nüshası) Harezm Türkçesi Söz Varlığına Katkılar: Yansıma Fiiller

The concept of onomatopoeia has been an important research topic for world languages as well as our language, and onomatopoeia words have been accepted as the first stage of a language in conveying the expression. Onomatopoeia words, which are expressed with many concepts in the literature such as imitative word, rebound, reflex, onomatopoetic word, reverberation, echo word, echoism, mimetic word, have been used in Turkish vocabulary for centuries. Over time, its functions and contribution to the language continued and continued to be enriched. Considering that the sound imitations of every living and non-living creature in nature are a word, it will be easier to understand how important the onomatopoeia words occupy in the vocabulary of a language. Considering the words derived through these sounds, this number will increase even more. The subject of our study will be the onomatopoeia verbs that appear in the Yozgat copy of Mukaddimetü’l-Edeb, one of the oldest dictionaries of Turkish, and are not found in the Khwarezm Turkish vocabulary. The dictionaries of that period are of great importance in determining the vocabulary of a language. Mukaddimetü’l-Edeb, the most comprehensive dictionary of the Harezm Turkish period, has great importance in terms of revealing the vocabulary of the period. When the onomatopoeia verbs in the work were examined, it was determined that twelve verbs were not found in the vocabulary of the period. Only two of these onomatopoeia verbs exists in the nominative form, while the other ten verbs are derived. In this study, these twelve verbs will be examined and the function, derivational forms and meaning features of onomatopoeia verbs will be tried to be revealed.
