Abstract

Yabancı Dil Olarak Türkçe Öğretiminde Web 2.0 Araçlarının Kültür Aktarım Aracı Olarak Kullanımına Yönelik Öğrenci Görüşleri

The aim of this research is to reveal students' views on the use of Web 2.0 tools as culture transfer tool in teaching Turkish as a foreign language. For this purpose, the opinions of the students who participated in the activities designed for cultural transfer by using the Web 2.0 tool were consulted. A semi-structured interview form developed by the researcher in line with expert opinions was used as a data collection tool in the study, which was designed in accordance with the phenomenology pattern, one of the qualitative research designs. Data obtained from semi-structured interviews were analyzed in accordance with descriptive analysis. According to the findings, most of the students think that using Web 2.0 tool makes the learning environment fun and instructive. The majority of the students stated that they both had learned new things about Turkish culture (Turkish food and beverage culture, Turkish weddings, Turkish arts, etc.) and fun with the activities prepared with the Web 2.0 tool. In addition to these, the majority of the students stated that they wanted to continue using the Web 2.0 tool because it was fun and instructive. This finding indicate that Web 2.0 tools can be used as a cultural transfer tool in teaching Turkish as a foreign language and learning can be made more enjoyable by using these tools. However, the results also show that it is important to include as many different types of activities as possible and to pay attention to the duration of the activities so that the activities designed with Web 2.0 tools do not become boring for students.
