Dede Korkut Stories are one of the most important works of Turkish literature. Therefore, adaptations of Dede Korkut Stories to children's literature play an important role in transferring Turkish culture to future generations by ensuring that the stories can be understood and beloved by being read by the children of the modern era. For the Dede Korkut Stories, which are historical manuscripts, to be read and understood by today's readers, the barriers arising from language and cultural differences must first be removed through intralingual translation. However, if Dede Korkut Stories are to be adapted for children's literature, the language and expression of this draft text translated into language should be adapted to the level of children. One of the elements that make up the wide vocabulary of the stories is the formulaic expressions that enable the transfer of language and cultural heritage and enrich the storytelling. Therefore, intralingual translation of the formulaic expressions that the child reader will constantly encounter throughout the text is important when adapting Dede Korkut Stories to children's literature. In this study, intralingual translations of “boy boyladı ?oy ?oyladı” and “görelüm ?anum ne ?oylamış” formulaic expressions in 19 Dede Korkut Stories, in which it is stated on the cover or preface of the book that the book is for primary school students, for children or a book from the Turkish Ministry of Education 100 Basic Literary Works, are emphasized.When these stories were examined, it was seen that these formulaic expressions were either included without any explanation, were not included at all, or words that did not fully reflect the meaning of these formulaic expressions were preferred. At the end of the study, the extension method, which is one of the text replacement methods, is proposed in order to make the repeated phrases in the children's literature adaptations of Dede Korkut Stories, which is a historical text, in a way that the child can understand.
