17. Yüzyıla Ait Bir Tıp Metninin Söz Varlığı Açısından İncelemesi

It is a medical text written during the Ottoman period. The work was written in 1108 Hijri (1697 AD). The 17th century was a century in which innovation was deemed necessary in the Ottoman understanding of science and some measures were tried to be taken in this regard. It is understood from the information in the book that the given the work was created by quoting from "philosophers" (doctors). The work consists of 10 leaves and usually has 15 lines. This study includes the introduction of the Risâle-i Devâ’ ve Mu‘âlecât, the text's modern form, and the vocabulary in the text.

Risâle-i Devâ’ ve Mu‘âlecât, begins by stating that the remedies to be explained in the book have been tried. This situation is also emphasied in the sections that can be considered as chapters in the book, and in the sections where the remedies to be explained are itroduced. In the following lines of the work, the benefits of the radish plant according to famous physicians who are representatives of ancient medicine are conveyed. This plant, which has properties such as removing phlegm and digesting food, is a medicinal plant that is thought to be a cure for almost all diseases, according to the experiences of ancient physicians. It is thought that the Turkish medical text called Risâle-i Devâ’ ve Mu‘âlecât, written in 1697 can contribute to studies in the field of historical medicine.
