Abstract

Enkanto: Sihirli Dünya Animasyonunun Ebeveyn Kabul Red Kuramı (Ekar) Bağlamında Maxqda ile Analizi

Animations can serve both entertaining and educational functions. Enkanto: The Magical World animation can be considered an animation that both entertains and educates the audience. This animation has been analysed in line with the parental rejection theory. The document analysis method, one of the qualitative research methods, was used. The Maxqda programme was used in the analysis. The parental acceptance and rejection theory was analysed using the dimensions of warmth/affection, hostility/aggression, neglect/indifference, and undifferentiated rejection. This analysis was carried out based on the behaviour of family members towards the main character, Mirabel. The disasters that befall the family in the animation and Mirabel's struggle with these disasters were examined. It was found that Mirabel was mostly approached in the film from the hostility/aggression dimension. It was also found that Mirabel generally felt excluded and inadequate in response to this situation. Mirabel also experienced warmth/affection in some scenes. The concepts of the theory were examined under three different themes: parental approach, grandmotherly approach, and other family members' approach. Finally, the theme of how Mirabel responded to these events was created. Finally, the theme of how Mirabel responded to these experiences was established. This study provided the opportunity to visualise the dimensions of EKAR as visual material. Thus, the theory under consideration was examined using visual materials. Animation analyses can be used as material in teaching the theory in relevant university courses.
