Abstract

2003-2024 Yılları Arasında Geometrik Düşünme Düzeyleri Üzerine Yapılmış Lisansüstü Tezlerin İçerik Analizi

The aim of this study is to explore trends in the levels of geometric thinking among graduate theses conducted in Türkiye between 2003 and 2024 across various variables. Data for this investigation, conducted through document analysis, were gathered from a total of 92 graduate theses. The collected data underwent content analysis. The theses were categorized under ten headings: type, year of publication, university and department, subject area, methodology, research design, study group, data collection tool, and data analysis. Analysis results revealed that master’s theses outnumbered doctoral theses, with the most intensive research conducted in 2023. It was observed that graduate theses were predominantly conducted in specific universities and departments, such as mathematics and elementary education. Topics such as achievement, attitude, spatial ability, and retention were found to be the most prevalent. A similar number of studies employed qualitative and quantitative research methods, with case study and survey research designs being the most favored. The highest intensity of research occurred at the secondary school level, with the least at the primary school level. Data collection tools included tests, scales, and interview forms, while data analysis techniques commonly involved t-tests, ANOVA, content analysis, and descriptive analysis.
