Abstract


Balıkesirli Feyzî’ye Ait Bir Mesnevi

Masnavi is a special form of verse in divan literature with its rhyming couplets, the possibility of creating unlimited volumes and the ability to deal with all kinds of religious, intellectual or narrative subjects. Although it is not called masnavi, it can technically be encountered even in pre-Islamic and Western-influenced Turkish literature, especially with its rhyme scheme. This is an indication of how useful masnavi and masnavi rhyme are for poets. Masnavis, written on the basis of a certain systematic with their own internal headings and divisions have become popular to different degrees in different centuries and have become a form of verse that reflects different tendencies in terms of form and content. Narrative ones; Western novels and stories, with their plots, elements of curiosity and conflicts, filled a huge gap until they secured their place in Turkish literature. In this sense, XIX. end of the century and XX. It has a special importance in terms of masnavi of the beginning of the century. Because this period is a period in which both the divan literature tradition and the masnavi verse form in particular are in a struggle for existence due to Western literary influences. In this study, the 19th century of divan literature end of the century and XX. A mesnevi found in the divan of Feyzî from Balıkesir, who lived in the early 19th century, will be introduced. This masnavi is important because it is one of the last masnavis written in divan poetry.
