Hocazâde Ahmed Hilmi’nin “Mir’ât-ı Hazret-i Muhyiddîn İbn Arabî” Adlı Eseri

Biography-based research and studies are an integral part and an undeniable aspect of historical studies. Because people are at the center of yesterday, just like today. Along with elements such as society, state and civilization shaped by humans, history is also a phenomenon and field of existence constructed by humans, both lived and written. This has an indispensable meaning, especially in terms of the principles that shape the Turkish-Islamic civilization. This situation, which remained valid during the periods when the Ottoman Empire was dominant, has various effects and reflections in the field of literature. Hocazade Ahmed Hilmi, one of the notable representatives of the rich biography of the Ottoman Empire in the last period, is a writer whose name is not very prominent, but he is one of the writers who can be considered productive of his time with his state translations of many Sufi elders, especially the important names of Nakşibendiyye, to which he is affiliated. In this study, the treatise named Mir’at-ı Hazret-i Muhyiddin İbn Arabi, which is the most prominent among Hocazade’s works at the time and is the only book that has the feature of a monograph as well as focusing on a single name; It is aimed to introduce and evaluate the work in terms of its subject and form structure, and to transfer the work to today’s letters in the form of a transcribed text.
