This study was prepared by identifying examples of Ottoman-era Iznik tile and ceramic art decorated with grape motifs, and investigating their techniques, patterns, forms, and application methods. This study, which also examines the grape, its historical and symbolic meanings, is completed by researching examples of grape motifs applied in tile art. The place and importance of grape motifs within the designs, used as a decorative element in tile art, are also examined. This study, which includes examples of works with grape motifs applied to different materials in various art fields, also presents various examples of the use of the grape motif. Researched with the help of relevant sources and photographs, this study covers examples of grape motifs applied to 15th-17th century tiles. This study, which gains value by grouping the application areas of grape motifs used in Ottoman-era Iznik tiles and obtaining new findings, aims to contribute to the field scientifically. In conclusion, the compositional differences between the applications of the grape motif in classical-era Iznik tiles in the form of earthenware and ceramics are revealed in the research, emphasizing the novelty it will bring to the classification gap in the field of tile art. This study, conducted to increase the accessibility of grape motifs used for decorative and functional purposes in tile and ceramic art, documents new findings and data.
