The policies of the Early Republican Period, also known as the Atatürk Period, are important in many respects. This study examines the reflection of Atatürk Era policies on newspaper advertisements. Various policies and westernization efforts that started since the establishment of the Republic of Turkey were also reflected in advertisements. In this study, the issues of Cumhuriyet newspaper published between 1929-1932, which is the 4-year period after the transition to the Latin alphabet, were analyzed by content analysis method. Cumhuriyet is a newspaper that was founded with the encouragement of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and can be considered as a contemporary of the Republic of Turkey. In this respect, it is important in terms of witnessing all periods of the Republic. The relevant issues of Cumhuriyet newspaper were accessed through the Digital National Library, Istanbul University E-Archive and E-Cumhuriyet application. Through the coding chart created, the advertisements published during this period were analyzed and it was determined that these advertisements proceeded in parallel with the policies of the Republic. In this period, it was determined that foreign pharmaceutical companies advertised predominantly, while advertisements of domestic products were prominent in products such as food and beverages and clothing and fashion. This study is important as it is one of the first studies to examine the relationship between the policies and advertisements during the Atatürk Period.
