Fantasy narrative, which has been the name of a literary genre since the middle of the eighteenth century, offers an unusual atmosphere to the reader; it includes the contradictions encountered in the living world and which do not comply with logic and objective reality. The question of whether the narrated events are real or an illusion, and the uncertainty in the answer to this question, is the most important feature that carries the text to fantasy dimensions The stories of Cemil Kavukçu, who started publishing his first stories in the 1980s and is one of the prominent writers of Turkish literature with his many stories he wrote until today, are also very rich in terms of fantasy elements. In this study, fantasy elements in Cemil Kavukçu’s stories will be evaluated. In the introduction part of the study, general information about the theory of fantasy literature is given. In the analysis section, which we have divided into three subsections, based on Todorov’s fantasy literature description, the fantasy elements in Cemil Kavukçu’s stories have been identified and interpreted in the context of entities/persons, time, space, and events. In the conclusion part, in the light of the findings obtained in the analysis section, the fantasy elements in Kavukçu’s stories were evaluated in terms of form and thematic.
