Folk dances emerged as a result of imitation of some things in nature and the feelings brought about by social change. Especially it is seen that imitation of the animals with various mimic and motion in the folk dance. Since the history of humanity, folk dances have presented as a tool for indication of people’s love, excitement, suffers and ideas. Nowadays, folk dances appear other different forms of its function. This folk dances have many functions like that entertaining, protesto, social representation, communication, celebration, cultural transfers in education and raising life quality in health field. Besides, folk dances are the creatures of the public knowledge that reflects the culture and identity of the society with its structure, content and various functions. Effects settlement policy of the Ottoman have a big piece on the emergence of Barak’s folklore dances. Those reflected settlement policy the dance figures by protesting. In this respect, Barak Turkmen folk dances reflect the culture, lifestyle, geographical structure and climate of the region. The fact that there has not been an independent folklore inquiry on Barak Turkmens folk dances is a reason for preference. Folk dance of this inquiry is determined by scraning literature and using observation and interview methods. The area where the Barak Turkmen lived is scanned and Information is given about the performance environments, structure and content of folk dances. The determined folk dances were compiled from weddings, festivities, circumcision ceremony and henna night vs. like environment and were mentioned this story of dances how emerge. In this study, it is aimed to explain the folk dances of Barak Turkmens and thus transfer the dances to future generations.
