In this study, the first part of the poems published in the journal of The Thought, the first part of which was published at the end of the First World War and the second part in the years of the War of Independence, were discussed in terms of how they reflect the extraordinary historical process experienced as a country and a nation in terms of content. Only the subjects of the poems that do not reflect this process have been determined; however, these parts of the poems that have references, traces and allusions to the process are detailed. Before the evaluation of the poems, poetry and sociality were emphasized. In the journal published by İsmail Hikmet [Ertaylan], articles on various philosophical and social issues, especially thought and literature, were published. From the first issue of the journal, a place was reserved for poetry, and the number of published poems increased in the following issues. Except for the special issue, which was prepared for Tevfik Fikret and was not included in the study, considering that this article is out of the perspective of the subject, 53 poems were included in this 10-issue periodical from the first issue to the last issue. Although the period in which the magazine was published coincided with a period in which extraordinary conditions were experienced for the country and the nation, it was observed that this process was reflected in the content of the poems in the magazine to a very limited extent, and more individual feelings and thoughts took place in these poems.
