Despite his short and turbulent life story, Metin Kaçan is a name that has left a mark on Turkish literature with his articles in magazines and novels. It can be said that Metin Kaçan is one of the avant-garde names of Turkish literature. His skillful use of slang in his novels, which usually tell the story of back streets, is one of the striking aspects of his works. In the novel Fındık Sekiz, which is the subject of the study, it is seen that fantasy and reality are interwoven, and the semantic universe of his novel is expanded and enriched with the intertextual connections he establishes. Intertextuality, which has developed in line with the views of many theorists from the 1960s to the present, is an important method used in literary and cultural studies today. Intertextuality can be said to be understanding and explaining the relationship of a text with other texts and the forms of these relationships that the author knowingly establishes, and it is frequently used as a way of fragmenting and pluralizing the narrative in postmodern novels as a reaction to the understanding of unity in the modern novel. Fındık Sekiz, the author’s second novel, is a novel that is quite rich in terms of intertextuality. It has been determined that Metin Kaçan established intertextual relationships between his novel and oral cultural narratives of folk literature such as tales, folk stories, anecdotes, Sufi texts, and many other names and works by using methods such as quotation, allusion, illusion, reference, semantic transformation, and rewriting.
