The number of text adaptation studies, which initially began with the aim of meeting the need for extracurricular reading in teaching Turkish to foreigners, has been rapidly increasing in recent years. When new studies in this field are examined, it is seen that in addition to the need for extracurricular reading, the creation of course content in course books and the creation of listening text examples have also been given importance. While text adaptation studies were initially conducted using more intuitive methods, in recent years, emphasis has been placed on structural and text linguistic studies. In the early studies, studies based on grammar and achievements in course books teaching Turkish to foreigners have been replaced by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. In recent years, the text adaptation studies of the Program for Teaching Turkish to Foreigners prepared by the Turkish Maarif Foundation have been based on grammar and reading skill achievements. Again, in recent studies, an increase has been observed in qualitative research on the readability of the adapted text and studies in which expert opinions are obtained. In this study, 71 postgraduate theses and 34 articles, a total of 105 text adaptation studies, were evaluated within the scope of an annotated bibliography in order to give an idea to researchers who want to work in this field, based on the method used, the level adapted, the source book or program taken as basis, and the main purpose of the thesis or article.
