Proverbs are a valuable part of the oral culture that has survived from the oral literature to the present day. Proverbs, which are accepted as an indicator of the national values of a nation, contain a great heritage in themselves. With the wisdom expressed in these advice-filled words from our grandfathers and ancestors, we are introduced to morals, values, philosophy, national understanding and thought that emerge in the light of the intelligence of a nation, a nation and generations. Proverbs are of great importance in terms of researching the history, culture, customs and traditions of the nation. People poetically reflected their daily lives, their own traditions, and all the ethical and aesthetic values they saw in their proverbs. Proverbs, which contain the spirit of our historical past, are a treasure of wisdom. These advising words, which deal with various subjects such as life, life, nature, and animal husbandry, also draw attention with their language richness and expressive power. Proverbs, which have come from the old Turkish works to the present day, have undergone changes in usage and meaning from time to time in the geography of the Turkish World. But in general, it is seen that these wise words are used in common. Researching and learning proverbs in terms of learning the great historical past of the Turkish World, which has a rich culture, is an important indicator showing how the socio-cultural life of this great geography has developed. Proverbs are an enlightened manifestation of a nation’s national identity and intelligence. İn this study, the common proverbs used in the field of Azerbaijan and Turkey were discussed and analyzed in terms of meaning. In the study, the concept of mountain, animal names, proverbs about advice are included. The aim of the study is to scan and analyze the proverbs used in common in Turkey and Anatolia in terms of meaning. As a result of the research, it has been determined that the Turks have a common history and culture by living in a similar geography. In the study, compilations were made from Ömer Asım Aksoy’s “Proverbs and Idioms Dictionary” (1995), Celal Beydili’s “Proverbs” (2004), Ebülgasım Hüseynzade’s “Proverbs (1985) and Metanet Yakupkızı’s “Proverbs” (2013).
