Proverbs are one of the important elements in the daily lives of societies as well as in oral and written cultural products. This important element is an ancient historical document of language and culture. Turkish proverbs, which have been used for centuries in different periods and in different geographies, have been written by many people and recorded in manuscripts. One of these works is in the National Library of Spain. This related manuscript, written in both Greek, Karamanli Turkish and Ottoman Turkish, contains proverbs beginning with the letter "elif ( ?)" in Ottoman Turkish. This copy, which was written under the name of "Türkî Durûb-ı Emsâl", is examined for the first time in this study. In the study, firstly, explanations about the concept of proverb were made. Afterwards, information was given about the Turkî Durûb-ı Emsâl in the Spanish National Library. After the explanations and the information given, the text in the copy was transferred to Latin letters. A few pictures from the manuscript are also included in the work. In line with the examinations, 290 proverbs and idioms were identified in the manuscript. Many of these proverbs are still used frequently today. Some proverbs have different variants.
