Local newspapers, which were effective in terms of the formation of popular power during the War of Independence, also played an active role in the implementation of the reforms carried out in the Republican Period. In these critical moments, it has become even more important than before to explain the innovations led by Mustafa Kemal Pasha to the public. In order to be able to objectively evaluate Adana and its press in the period between 1923 and 1928, it is important to know the causes and consequences of the national and local events of the period. After the proclamation of the Republic, it became necessary to eliminate the harms of publications that did not support the National Struggle and the new administration in the field of press, as in every field. After the Law of Takrir-i Sükûn, which was accepted on March 4, 1925, on the one hand, newspapers and magazines were closed on the other hand, new newspapers and magazines were published. Efforts were made to fill the gap created by the closed newspapers by means of new newspapers launched in the field of printing. During the period between the new Turkish Republic and the Alphabet Reform, Adana Province became one of the lively development centers. By examining the Adana newspapers of this period in detail, the developments of the sensitive period, as well as the history of Adana's press and news will be revealed in detail.
