In this research, scientific research on writing informative texts; It is aimed to examine the genre, year, university, research methods, study groups and the type of informative text they deal with. The research was carried out with document analysis, one of the qualitative research methods. The data set of the research consists of 13 theses registered in the National Thesis Center of the Council of Higher Education and 13 scientific research articles determined from the search engines. When the data were analyzed, it was determined that 13 articles, 7 master’s theses and 6 doctoral theses were carried out on the subject. It has been determined that the researches increased after 2017, the most thesis research was conducted at Hacettepe University and Gazi University, the most experimental and survey type, the least case study and document review type of research. When the studies were examined according to the study groups, it was determined that the researches were conducted at secondary school, primary school and undergraduate level, respectively. When the types of informative text writing were examined, it was seen that informative text was written mostly in the description type, while other types were not included enough. Based on these results, it has been evaluated that research on writing informative texts is insufficient, that the road is still at the beginning in this field, and some suggestions have been expressed.
