Toplumların dinamiklerini belirleyen değerler aynı zamanda ait olduğu toplumun yaşayış biçimini de sistemleştiren prensipler ve kurallar bütünüdür. Bir toplum başta kültürel varlığı olmak üzere tüm varlık alanlarını sürdürmeyi değerleri var oldukça gerçekleştirir. Ülkemizde Talim ve Terbiye Kurulu tarafından on kök değer başlığı altında sıralanan değerler, karakter ve değer öğretiminin sistemleştirilmesine anlamlı katkı sağlamıştır. Bu açıdan 2019 Türkçe Dersi Öğretim Programı’nda yer alan kök değerler, değerlerin eğitimi ve öğretiminde önemli bir yere sahiptir. Bu bağlamda bu araştırmanın amacı, “7. sınıf Türkçe ders kitabındaki yazınsal metinlerin 2019 programında bulunan kök değerleri ne ölçüde barındırdığını incelemek ve söz konusu değerlerin hangi sıklıkta yer aldığını tespit etmektir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemi kullanılmış ve bu kapsama giren doküman inceleme tekniğinden yararlanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde ise içerik analizi tekniği kullanılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda incelenen ders kitabındaki kök değerlerin metinlere orantısız biçimde dağıldığı; temalara dengeli bir şekilde dağıtılmadığı, en çok kök değerin bulunduğu metin türünün “hikâye edici metinler”, en az kök değerin bulunduğu metin türünün ise “şiir” olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca metinlerde kullanılan en baskın kök değerin “sorumluluk” değeri olduğu, en az ise “sabır” kök değerinin olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Çalışmada ulaşılan bulgular doğrultusunda başta Millî Eğitim Bakanlığı ve ilgili araştırmacılara yönelik olmak üzere çeşitli önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

The values that shape the dynamics of societies are, at the same time, the principles and rules that systematize the way of life of the society to which they belong. A society maintains all domains of its existence primarily its cultural existence so long as its values persist. In our country, the values listed under ten core value headings by the Board of Education and Discipline (Talim ve Terbiye Kurulu) have made a meaningful contribution to the systematization of character and values education. In this respect, the core values included in the 2019 Turkish Language Curriculum hold significant importance in the education and instruction of values. Accordingly, the aim of this study is to examine the extent to which the literary texts in the 7th-grade Turkish textbook contain the core values found in the 2019 curriculum and to determine the frequency with which these values appear. For this purpose, a qualitative research method was employed, and the document analysis technique appropriate to this scope was used. Content analysis was conducted in the analysis of the data. The results of the study reveal that the core values in the examined textbook are distributed disproportionately across the texts; they are not evenly distributed across themes. It was determined that “narrative texts” contain the highest number of core values, while “poetry” contains the least. Moreover, the most prominent core value in the texts is “responsibility,” whereas the least represented core value is “patience.” Based on the findings of the study, several recommendations were made, particularly for the Ministry of National Education and relevant researchers
