Postmodernism, which emerged after the second half of the 20th century, first began to be seen in architecture. Postmodernism, which goes beyond the strict, directive, immanent, guiding, subordinate and channeling arguments of modernism, is considered as a situation that becomes homogeneous over time, rather than containing a direct opposition to modernism. As mentioned, postmodernism, which first appeared in architecture, then appears in philosophy, art and literary fields. Postmodernism, which differs in many features, is one of the fields in which it is noteworthy. The reflection of the concept, which finds its counterpart in literary genres, in the story follows a different course, especially in terms of intense expression, intertwined language patterns and the layers of discourse it carries. The distinctiveness of the story beyond its superficial resemblance to some genres makes this process a unique development. In the recent Turkish story, it is possible to talk about works that can be given as examples in this sense. One of them is the work called Uzun Sürmüş Bir Günün Akşamı, written by Bilge Karasu. In the work, which includes three stories, there is an approach that features elements of postmodernism such as elitism, fragmented (interrupted) time, impression and emotion expression, reader-oriented/multiple interpretation, parody, intertextuality and metafiction. With these concepts, a different perspective is presented by discussing the ideological, meta-narrative and idealized atmosphere shaped by modernism. In this direction, a narrative in which the post-modern human being is exposed and described in terms of action and mind is encountered in the stories. This discourse, which is dominated by postmodernist lines, focuses on understanding the age and the individual with the intellectual, theoretical and philosophical arguments it feeds on. With this study, it is aimed to discuss the act and consciousness processes of postmodern man, based on the postmodernist elements elitism, the counterparts of history and intertextuality, the situational projections of the age and the people in the story.
